‘Zero’ – Valencia star jokingly mocks Tottenham player on international duty

Valencia forward Hugo Duro jokingly mocked Tottenham Hotspur winger, Bryan Gil, on Instagram for scoring ‘0 goals’ as Spain U21s beat Romania U21s 4-1 during an international friendly, writes the HITC.

The 2021 Tottenham summer signing is yet to taste a single minute of football for Antonio Conte this season, but he earned some much-needed minutes for his country.

The 21-year-old, who was brought to north London by Nuno Espirito Santo, played 45 minutes for his country, including supplying an assist, as the U21s comfortably beat Romania’s youngsters.

As harsh as it may sound, it’s probably the very few minutes Gil will earn from now until the January transfer window because he is even struggling to come off the bench for his club side.

It also needs to be remembered that Tottenham are also playing in Europe and there are also five substitutions in use, yet he still can’t get a kick.

Nonetheless, when Gil reacted to Spain U21s win, in the comments section, his former Valencia teammate jokingly mocked him for his lack of goals by posting the following message: “0 goals by Bryan, good bro,” said Duro.

After struggling to make a mark when he first arrived, Gil was allowed to leave Spurs in January and play for La Liga strugglers Valencia.

The versatile forward fared pretty well for the club to the point that they wanted him back during the 2022 summer transfer window, but a move didn’t materialise which seemed to upset the player on transfer deadline day.

It seemed as though he wanted to leave, but senior figures thought otherwise, which has to be questioned because his current situation is showing no signs of changing anytime soon.

Either way, come the winter transfer window, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is one of the first out of the exit door.
