Wanted by Sevilla – Tottenham are reportedly ready to offload struggling ex-PSG playmaker in January

According to 90 min, Tottenham Hotspur are increasingly likely to part ways with Giovani Lo Celso in January.

As informs the HardTackle, the playmaker was recently omitted from the matchday squad in the recent game against Chelsea. Shortly after the game, the player cleared the air over his fitness, suggesting he was available to feature in the contest, leading to speculation about his long-term future in north London.

Several reports suggest Sevilla have emerged as a potential suitor for Lo Celso. The Spanish giants are in the market for a new playmaker due to former Tottenham attacker Erik Lamela’s injury-enforced absence, coupled with the summer exit of Bryan Gil.

They were in contention to bring back Gil earlier in the season, but it appears they have set their sights on Lo Celso, who has a proven track record in La Liga. However, things have not worked out quite as well for the Argentine, in the Premier League.

Suffering from injuries and lack of form, the former PSG midfielder has fallen out of favour, especially under new coach Antonio Conte. He has only featured in 233 minutes of league football this term, falling behind Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and even Steven Bergwijn in the pecking order.

Lo Celso’s recent omission from the squad suggests the playmaker is not included in Conte’s plans, which could lead to a potential exit in January. Tottenham are already in the market for a new attacker in Adama Traore, so the departure of one of their star players could be critical in advancing the deal with Wolves, valued at around £20 million.

Lo Celso is not the only Tottenham midfielder linked with a move away from north London, though. In addition to the Argentine, Tanguy Ndombele is also expected to leave the club amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants are reportedly in advanced talks to sign the Frenchman on a short-term loan deal.
