In conversation with BFM Lille, via FourFourTwo (h/t Football.London), Lille president Olivier Letang admitted that the club would allow Renato Sanches to leave provided they get the right offer.

The Portuguese midfielder burst onto the scene in a scintillating manner, winning the 2016 Golden Boy award. He then made the switch from S.L. Benfica to Bayern Munich but the move failed to pay the expected dividends.

His time at the Bavarian club also included a disastrous spell on loan at Swansea City. Despite all of the troubles, the 24-year-old midfielder has gone on to make a name for himself in the Ligue 1 with defending champions Lille. He now appears to be ready for a new challenge.

The Portuguese midfielder has played 63 matches across all competitions for the French club. He has been a dependable asset and played an important role in helping Lille win the Ligue 1 last season. With his consistency levels back, interest in the 24-year-old appears to be on the rise.

Letang commented on the 24-year-old midfielder’s future with Lille and what would happen if a big club came in with the right offer. He admits that the player too is aware that he can leave if an acceptable offer is made.

“I have already discussed this with him. If an offer from a big club arrives, Renato will be able to leave. We will see what will happen”

The Ligue 1 outfit were demanding a sum of €35 million (£29.8 million) for Sanches in the 2020-21 summer transfer window. It would be interesting to see if the North London club would be ready to settle on that figure. The Spurs have lacked that creative spark in the middle of the pitch this season. The Lilywhites have been heavily reliant on players like Lucas Moura, Son Heung-Min, and Harry Kane in the last couple of seasons to produce something going forward.
