According to Calciomercato (h/t Express), Tottenham Hostpur could bring in former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata should their star striker Harry Kane leave the club next summer.
There has been a lot of speculation around Harry Kane’s future at the club. He has been prominently linked to fellow rivals Manchester City. The English captain has failed to make the kind of impact that he has in the past season for the Lilywhites.
The English striker has failed to open his goal-scoring account in the Premier League this season. Alvaro Morata is being linked with the North London club should Kane move away from the club. The Spanish striker seems to have found his feet at Juventus after several spells in clubs across different leagues.
Morata has already scored 3 goals and recorded 1 assist in 7 matches for the Turin outfit across all competitions this season. The 28-year-old striker had a spell with Chelsea but could not make a long-lasting impact with the Blues and was shipped away from Stamford Bridge.
Nuno Espirito Santo has struggled to find the right balance with the team at the moment. Their last victory against Aston Villa in the Premier League would have helped ease some of the pressure on the Portuguese manager’s shoulder. That being said there is a long way to go in the PL and he would want his squad to continue their winning form.
Morata could be a welcome addition to Nuno’s squad and give him the ability to change things up in the front. Any move for the Spain international is only tentative at this stage however, with uncertainty surrounding Kane’s future the North London club could be pushed to make a move for a new striker sooner rather than later.
