According to Football365 (h/t Birmingham Live), Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham to complete a deal for Adama Traore on the transfer deadline day. The former Spurs and England keeper felt that the Wolves man would be a good fit at his former club due to Nuno Espirito Santo knowing him very well.
Spurs have had a good transfer window so far. They managed to get quality players for required positions all while shifting out players that were no longer needed. Pierluigi Gollini replaced Joe Hart, Cristian Romero replaced Toby Alderweireld while Bryan Gil was a swap for Erik Lamela. Add to that, Pape Sarr was signed but he will join the side next season.
However, Spurs are still interested in a few more names such as Adama Traore. The Wolves speedster has been linked away from the club and Tottenham are said to have already made a loan bid with a fee of £5 million. The same was rejected by Wolves. If Spurs needed proof of why they should go after him again, they need only watch his display against Manchester United.
The Spaniard danced around the entire opposition with ease and not one player could stop him. Hence, it was not surprising to hear that former Tottenham keeper, Paul Robinson wanted the club to move for him on deadline day.
“He’s a player that I like. I think he has really improved in recent years. I think before his main attribute was his raw pace, but now there’s an end product to his game. He brings a lot more to the team than pace. He’s a constant threat, he can turn attack into defence very quickly. Nuno knows him very well, and I think he would fit right into the system they play.”
