Tottenham Star Confirms Desire to Stay at Spurs, Conte Exit Won’t Affect His Future

When Antonio Conte was appointed as Tottenham’s manager, he brought in a number of new faces to strengthen the team, including Dejan Kulusevski. The Swedish forward arrived in a double deal with Rodrigo Bentancur, both players being sent away by Juventus for much-needed money.

Since then, both have become household names in London. In an interview with Fotbollskanalen, the winger commented on the current situation at Tottenham, including Conte’s near untenable position.

Kulusevski said, “We have to see what happens first. Right now, he’s still there, and we all have to take that into account. I don’t know what it will be, but as in life, things change. Then you have to be ready for change, and life will still go on.”

Although Bentancur was sold outright to Tottenham, Kulusevski was loaned for 18 months instead, with a view to a permanent deal. There has been talk that the Italian manager leaving could affect Kulusevski’s chances of staying in London, but he clarified that this was not the case.

The deal was put together by Fabio Paratici, who advocated for the hiring of Antonio Conte in the first place. Paratici’s departure from Juventus and the uncertainty surrounding Conte’s future has led to questions about whether Kulusevski would stay at Tottenham, but he seemed to dismiss these concerns.

Kulusevski said, “No, no. Absolutely not” when asked if Conte’s situation affects the club’s option to buy him. He also expressed his desire to stay at Tottenham and continue playing in the Premier League, saying, “Absolutely, that’s right.”

It remains to be seen what will happen to Conte and Tottenham in the coming months, but Kulusevski seems ready for whatever changes may come. The loaned forward is focused on his game and looking forward to a bright future with the London club.
