According to De Telegraaf, Ajax and Tottenham representatives reached verbal agreements on the transfer of Steven Bergwijn on Sunday.
The Dutch champion is willing to pay a record sum of 30 million euros for the club. Ajax is waiting for confirmation by e-mail to introduce the player today.
The chairman of the London club Daniel Levy initially set a price tag of 30 million because he wanted to get the money invested in him when he bought in 2020.
Tottenham’s firm stance was also boosted by the fact that the Dutch player, who has proven himself perfectly in the Dutch national team, attracted interest from two PL clubs – Everton and Manchester United.
A few weeks ago, Ajax agreed on personal terms with the player by signing him to a five-year contract.
