Tottenham should target Renato Sanches in January.
The Portuguese midfielder and former golden boy winner is simply fantastic.
Currently at Lille, Tottenham were interested in the 24-year-old over the summer (Le10Sport).
It was then reported earlier this week that the player will be allowed to leave Lille for the right price (FourFourTwo).
With that in mind, the Lilywhites need to make Sanches their number one target.
His dynamism in midfield makes him an exceptional option and he could be the link player in the middle that Spurs need.
When looking at his stats on FBRef, the closest comparison that can be found to Sanches is a former Tottenham star, Luka Modric.
If Sanches could sign for Spurs and be half the player that Modric was then it would be a huge coup.
Spurs have some real midfield issues at the moment.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield has some good attacking options and some good holding options.
However, there’s a real lack of proper box-to-box options and Sanches is just that.
He can excel in both boxes and be the link player that the Lilywhites need.
Tottenham should make him their number one target in January.
Fabio Paratici will no doubt be working to try and complete this signing.
However, Sanches isn’t the only player that Spurs need.
Whilst he would massively help the midfield, Spurs need reinforcements all over.
Another new centre-back and a striker to support Harry Kane are also necessary additions.
Sanches should be the first man brought in, though, and he’ll surely star.
However, Spurs aren’t the only club who want him.
To make this happen they’ll likely have to fight off interest from Arsenal and Barcelona.
