Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Friday, August 21 as Spurs begin their build up to their Premier League clash with Wolves this weekend, following a 1-0 defeat in Portugal to Pacos de Ferreira last night.
Tottenham are reportedly rivalling Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signature of Sporting midfielder Joao Palhinha, according to Portuguese journalist Filipe Dias.
Speaking to Sky Sports, via HITC, Dias said: “The latest information we had here this week was that, apart from Wolverhampton, Tottenham is also interested in him.
“It makes sense because you have Nuno Espirito Santo and Bruno Lage, Portuguese managers managing Wolverhampton and Spurs, and they are pretty familiar with this player.”
Spurs target Dusan Vlahovic could be set for another year at Fiorentina after the club’s president, Rocco Commisso, confirmed that he does not intend to sell the Serbian this summer.
Speaking to TGR Rai Toscana, Commisso confirmed that Fiorentina intend to keep him. “I didn’t put Vlahovic up for sale,” he said.
“On the contrary, we made him a big renewal offer.
“There are teams interested in him but I have not put a price on him.
“I want him to stay for one more year.”
Meanwhile, Manchester City have also reportedly joined the race to sign the 21-year-old, making Tottenham’s task that little bit more difficult.
