Tottenham Hotspur Reportedly Interested in Signing Dean Henderson

According to reports from Football Insider (via Manchester Evening News), Tottenham Hotspur will have to shell out £30 million if they want to sign Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson. The North London club has expressed interest in acquiring the services of the England international, and they have been keeping a close eye on the goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Henderson is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and had criticized Manchester United for not giving him enough game time before he joined the Tricky Trees on a temporary move in the summer of 2022. It is unlikely that the 26-year-old will play for the Red Devils when he returns to the club at the end of the season, so his future remains uncertain.

Tottenham currently have Hugo Lloris as their number one goalkeeper, but the 36-year-old is nearing the end of his career. As a backup, the club has 35-year-old Fraser Forster in their ranks. However, with the possibility of Lloris retiring in the near future, Spurs are looking for a long-term replacement.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have David de Gea as their first-choice goalkeeper. Under Erik ten Hag, the Spaniard has retained his place in between the sticks. However, he has looked uncomfortable playing out from the back. In the 2020/21 season, the 32-year-old was competing with Henderson for minutes, but in the previous campaign, the former Atletico Madrid star pipped the England international in the pecking order.

Henderson has enjoyed regular minutes in Steve Cooper’s team and has put in some impressive displays, seemingly reviving his reputation over the course of the season. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will make a move for the shot-stopper in the summer transfer window.

In conclusion, Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in signing Dean Henderson for £30 million, but it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for the goalkeeper. Manchester United, on the other hand, will have a decision to make regarding Henderson’s future as they already have David de Gea as their first-choice goalkeeper.
