Tottenham Hotspur ace Pierluigi Gollini has taken to Instagram to issue a potential hint over where his future may lie this summer, writes the TIF.
Spurs acquired the services of the Italian shot-stopper last summer in a season-long loan deal from Serie A outfit Atalanta.
However, that loan deal is set to expire at the end of next month and there has been little to suggest the north London club will look to make Gollini’s stay permanent.
On Sunday, Antonio Conte’s men saw out the 2021/22 campaign in style with a resounding 5-0 victory away to Norwich City which secured their spot in next season’s Champions League.
After the game, Gollini took to Instagram as he celebrated the conclusion of the campaign with his Spurs teammates as they travelled back to north London.
And one post after the match which may hint at his future being away from Spurs was an image of him and some of the squad on the bus journey home which was captioned: “Thank you, boys.”
The Italian failed to trouble Hugo Lloris and his starting spot between the sticks for the Lilywhites, with the Frenchman rewarded for a fine season with a contract extension.
Gollini failed to earn himself an appearance in the Premier League this season, with just 10 showings in total to his name – and only three of them came under Conte.
Recently, it has been suggested Spurs are already looking ahead to the summer window with Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster believed to be Tottenham’s number-one target for a new goalkeeper.
As The Athletic believes the north London club are looking to boost their homegrown quota with the addition of Forster, it seems the Italian goalkeeper may be sending a goodbye message with this Instagram post.
