Fabrizio Romano claims that Tottenham could be about to sanction the sale of Harry Winks, with an update likely in the “next few days”. The England ace has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs in the last 12 months. Now, Tottenham fans have reacted to Romano commenting on Winks.
Winks, 25, managed just 15 Premier League appearances last season. The signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg pushed Winks down the pecking order, with Jose Mourinho using others alongside the Dane. Winks did get some game time under Ryan Mason – but a new midfielder is likely this summer.
The Telegraph claims Aston Villa are taking a look at Winks as Dean Smith continues to spend money on his ambitious squad. The England ace might have to leave this summer, unless he wants to play the odd game in the Europa Conference League in the coming weeks and months.
Speaking on his Twitch channel, Romano said that Winks could be on his bike this summer. Fabio Paratici has already offloaded both Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela. Now, Winks could join them, according to Italian transfer expert: “We will see in the next few days.”
Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Romano’s claim, that Winks could be leaving – or at least an update on his future could come soon. Many believe it is time for £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) Winks to depart.
