Tottenham Cool Interest in Conor Gallagher After Landing Homegrown Star Archie Gray

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher appears to have stalled following the club’s successful acquisition of Leeds United youngster Archie Gray, according to The Standard.

Gray, a highly-rated teenager who impressed in the Championship last season, has reportedly signed a six-year contract with Spurs for a fee believed to be around £40 million. The versatile midfielder, who can fulfill the homegrown player quota, addresses a key need for Tottenham. This, coupled with the passing of the Player Selection Restriction (PSR) deadline, is said to be the reason behind Tottenham’s cooling interest in Gallagher.

However, The Standard suggests that a potential move for Gallagher isn’t entirely out of the picture. With just one year remaining on his Chelsea contract, a late bid from manager Ange Postecoglou’s side remains a possibility.
