‘This guy is improving a lot’ – Antonio Conte blown away by youngster in Spurs training sessions

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has predicted that Dane Scarlett will have a ‘brilliant future’ ahead of him having been impressed of late, writes the HITC.

Tottenham beat West Ham United 3-1 on Sunday afternoon with Son Heung-min bagging a brace in a superb victory.

That leaves the top four hopes still on for Tottenham having claimed four wins from the last five Premier League games.

Conte will be focused on the here and now but, much like Tottenham fans, can’t help but get a little excited about the future with Scarlett.

Hype has been steadily building over Scarlett for a number of years now, especially since being named on the bench against Ludogorets back in 2020.

Scarlett, 17, has regularly been on the Tottenham bench under Conte but has only managed three minutes of Premier League action.

Whilst there is a huge buzz surrounding Scarlett, you have to remember he is only 17 and isn’t picking up as many Under-23 minutes because of his first-team involvement.

There may be loans to come down the line – it worked out pretty well for Harry Kane – but Tottenham have to stay patient and build Scarlett up gradually.

Still, Conte – unprompted – moved to rave about Scarlett in the aftermath of beating West Ham on Sunday afternoon.

Conte told Football London that he is seeing real improvements in Scarlett lately, hailing his performances in Tottenham training.

Conte couldn’t speak highly enough of Scarlett, suggesting that he is a ‘really important prospect’ for Tottenham and can have a ‘brilliant future’.

“I’m seeing a lot of improvement today in [Dane] Scarlett honestly if I have to tell you,” said Conte. “Seeing that this guy is improving a lot, he’s only 17-years-old but I can tell you that he is a really important prospect for Tottenham.”

“He has to be patient and work behind these very important players and continue to work in this way because about Scarlett, I can tell you that I see a brilliant future for him,” he added.

Tottenham may still bring in another striker this summer to support Harry Kane, but watch out for Scarlett in the coming years.
