Harry Kane has stated that Tottenham new boys, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, ‘have to learn’ what Antonio Conte wants from them, as he told the club’s official YouTube account, writes the HITC.
The Spurs striker added that Bentancur and Kulusevski did a ‘good job’ on their debuts on Saturday.
Tottenham eased into the fifth round of the FA Cup following a 3-1 win over Brighton, with the deadline day signings coming on as second-half substitutes.
Within minutes of coming onto the pitch, Bentancur showcased dazzling quick feet you would expect from Heung-Min Son or Lucas Moura as he danced out of danger from the edge of his own area.
Either way, it was a positive start from both players and this is what Kane had to say about the club’s new arrivals.
“They have been great,” said Kane. “It has been brilliant for them to come on and get some minutes.
“Obviously, it is never easy coming into a new team. But, so far, so good. They will have to keep working hard. They will have to learn what the manager wants.
“But they did a good job for us.”
Whilst those defeats against Chelsea won’t sit well with the Spurs fans, against the rest, they have done pretty well under Conte.
That was proven when they produced one of their best performances against Liverpool during their return match from their COVID outbreak.
Not forgetting the best of the lot and that quite stunning comeback win against Leicester.
But it’s all about the end result and securing Champions League football at the end of the campaign.
Spurs are seemingly in the driving seat because of their games in hand, but it is hard to gauge whether that is helpful to their cause or not.
