Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will be very pleased with how his side have started the season, writes the TBR.
Spurs remain unbeaten after their first six matches, and sit a point behind top of the table Arsenal.
Conte gave Richarlison his first start of the season, alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Speaking after the game, Conte believed that Richarlison now gives Tottenham another tactic they can use.
Conte said to BT Sport, via BBC Sport (18:33 3/9) “Not bad – we are talking about another player who came into our team quickly, he can play all three positions in the front.
“He’s a really good option for us. Today with three strikers they worked really well. If they work in this way they can play together.”
He added in his interview with BBC Sport: “Great performance from Richy, maybe some people will think at the start of the game, the balance of the team with two strikers, could be not really playable.
“Instead, they’re working very well, because Sonny and Richy are working with the ball and without the ball.
“Offensively they are really dangerous in every moment, and for this reason I’m really happy to see this Richy performance because he played really well.”
The Brazilian forward finally made his full debut for his new club against Fulham.
He scored a disallowed goal right at the end of the match, converting from Ryan Sessegnon’s cross.
The combination of Kane, Son and Dejan Kulusevski was very effective in the second half of last season.
The young Swede provided goals and assists alongside Tottenham’s two talismans.
However, Richarlison’s introduction gives Conte another tactical option to use.
Playing with two more traditional forwards, supported by Son, caused Fulham plenty of problems.
The ‘unbelievable’ Richarlison doesn’t press quite as well as Kulusevski, but still puts in a good defensive shift.
The 25-year-old caused controversy with his skills against Nottingham Forest.
However, Conte seems to be very happy with Richarlison’s start at Tottenham.
And Spurs fans will be hoping to see Richarlison showboating at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium soon.
