Italian Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo did not move to Tottenham Hotspur because of the head coach of the Italian team, Jose Mourinho.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the English club was ready to take the player on loan with the option to buy for €50 million next summer. Mourinho insisted that Tottenam buy Zaniolo for the same amount this window.
Nicolo Zaniolo, 23, has been with Roma since the summer of 2018. During this time, he played 111 matches for the I Giallorossi in all competitions and scored 22 goals.
The football player tore his cruciate ligaments twice – he missed the periods from January to July 2020 and from September 2020 to May 2021.
Zaniolo appeared in 42 Roma games last season, scoring eight goals, including the one that secured victory over Feyenoord in the Conference League final.
