‘The league isn’t ready for this’ – Fans love the Spurs recent appointment

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Spurs announced the arrival of Marco Savorani as their new First Team Goalkeeping Coach, writes the HITC.

Well, this is a fine appointment for Tottenham.

Savorani has a fantastic reputation in the world of goalkeeping, and has been pivotal in the development of Liverpool glovesman Alisson Becker.

The pair worked together at Roma, before the Brazilian’s £66.9m move to Anfield.

Savorani has also been credited with turning Wojciech Szczęsny’s career around, after the Pole left Arsenal for Roma – Juventus then snapped him up.

Clearly, the Italian is pretty good when it comes to developing goalkeepers, so Conte has made a fine addition to his staff.

Interestingly, Savorani worked alongside Conte as Goalkeeper Coach at Siena, so the pair have history.

Well, Spurs fans should expect to see improvement in Hugo Lloris and Pierluigi Gollini after Savorani’s arrival, if Alisson’s comments are anything to go by.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Reds shot-stopper said: “I learned a lot in Italy thanks to the goalkeeper coach Marco Savorani, who was crucial for the growth of me and Szczęsny.

“He’s one of the most important people in my life, he helped me both on and off the pitch.”

Savorani’s arrival in N17 comes at a good time, as Tottenham may need to get a fresh face up to scratch in between the sticks soon.

Why? Well, Lloris finds himself out of contract in June, and there is yet to be any developments over a fresh deal.

In that respect, Savorani may need to help find, and nurture, a new No.1 for Conte if the Frenchman leaves.

There’s also the fact Conte has stolen Savorani from José Mourinho’s Roma, where Savorani has spent the past seven years – Spurs fans will enjoy that one.
