Pierluigi Gollini spent a year with Spurs on a loan deal from Atalanta, but could not manage to impress during his span. At the end of the season, Fabio Paratici had a really tough mission to find a backup alternative for Hugo Lloris as well as improve competition here.
Tottenham delivered a masterstroke with the signing of Fraser Forster as a free agent. With seven years of Premier League experience with Southampton, Fabio could have hardly found a better man that ticks a lot of boxes for Spurs plans ahead of the season, not to mention that we did not have to drop a penny.
Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s YouTube channel, our manager admitted that he has been impressed with Forster’s form:
“Fraser I knew him when he played with Celtic and we played against them in the Champions League. Celtic vs Juventus.”
“I was impressed because he’s a really good keeper and a really good guy. I have seen this week he has come in very well into the dressing room and for the second goalkeeper, it is a particular role and you need to have a second keeper who is very positive.
“I think we have made the best choice for us.”
