TalkSport Man Makes Eye-Opening Claim About Next Spurs Manager

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly considering Vincent Kompany, the current Burnley manager, as a possible replacement for Antonio Conte for the 2023/24 campaign. Kompany has only been in charge of the Championship leaders since last summer, but he has already established his philosophy on the side, who appear poised to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

Despite having only recently joined the club, the 36-year-old Belgian has two years remaining on his contract with Burnley, which could be an issue for the Lilywhites. Tottenham is expected to search for a new manager at the end of the season, with Conte’s tenure in North London seemingly coming to a close.

TalkSport host Alan Brazil has stated that he has been informed that Kompany is a candidate to watch for the Tottenham job: “I thought about it and I thought, yeah, it does make sense because he’s doing a brilliant job, isn’t he? It might not be 100% accurate, but the guy who told me, I respect.”

The primary concern about the Belgian manager is his limited experience managing at the highest level, with his only previous experience coming with Burnley and Anderlecht. However, he has a wealth of experience playing at the top level and playing under some of the best managers in the game.

This experience could be passed down to the current crop of Spurs players, who are still seeking to end the North London club’s trophy drought. Nevertheless, if Daniel Levy chooses to overlook managers like Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique in favour of a manager with no experience in the Premier League, it would undoubtedly be a gamble.

Considering the frayed relationship between sections of the Spurs fanbase and Levy, it remains to be seen whether the chairman would take such a risk. Nonetheless, Kompany’s impressive work at Turf Moor is noteworthy. He has transformed Burnley, who were known for playing unattractive football, into a side that wins in style.

Burnley appears to be a sure bet to play against Tottenham next season. However, it may be too soon in Kompany’s career for him to be in the Spurs dugout when these two teams meet next season.
