Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve their backline this summer, and right now, the English side is in talks with Atalanta defender Cristian Romero. However, they could be looking at plan B should their pursuit of the Argentine fall short.
According to Italian football journalist Rudy Galetti, football agent Mino Raiola has proposed his client, Inter Milan defender Stefan De Vrij to Tottenham. Raiola does have connections with Juventus and knows Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici during his time with the Italian club.
Raiola wants to continue his relationship with Paratici by placing his client with his new club. Despite there have been contacts between the Netherlands international and the London-based club, but at the moment, they’re targeting Romero.
This rumor is the second time Tottenham is linked to an Inter Milan defender as they’ve expressed interest in Milan Škriniar. However, the Italian club wants a significant sum to even listen to an offer for the 26-year-old.
