Steven Gerrard has stirred up controversy by claiming that Harry Kane “is not from Tottenham”

Steven Gerrard has stirred up controversy by claiming that Harry Kane “is not from Tottenham” and has not been through the club’s academy system, raising questions about the future of the striker at Spurs.

Kane’s future has been a subject of speculation as his contract situation remains unresolved, and it is unclear whether he will remain at the club beyond this season. According to a report by Football Insider, Kane may be willing to commit to a new contract if Spurs can appoint a world-class manager to replace Antonio Conte.

The report suggests that Julian Nagelsmann, recently sacked by Bayern Munich, is among the Tottenham hierarchy’s top candidates.

In a recent interview with Channel 4, Gerrard discussed Kane’s future, saying that he has “got a big decision to make” regarding his career.

The Liverpool legend compared his own affiliation with his boyhood club to Kane’s relationship with Spurs, saying that he grew up as a Liverpool fan and knew that winning a trophy with the Reds would have meant more to him than doing so elsewhere. However, Gerrard’s comment that Kane “is not from Tottenham” has raised eyebrows and sparked debate among fans and pundits alike.

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole also weighed in on Kane’s situation, saying that it would be a “travesty” if the striker were to end his career without winning a trophy. With Kane turning 29 this year, time is running out for him to achieve this goal, and the uncertainty surrounding his future at Spurs only adds to the pressure.

It remains to be seen whether the club’s next manager will be enough to convince Kane to stay or whether he will look to move on in search of silverware.
