Spurs star valued £100m under Poch is now in line for January move for just £15m

Tottenham will struggle to sell Dele Alli for more than £15million after his performances this season, writes the Football Insider.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Alli, 25, started last week’s shock loss to Mura in the number 10 role behind Harry Kane and played 54 minutes before he was replaced by Son Heung-Min.

The midfielder has struggled to hold down a starting spot under Jose Mourinho, Nuno and now Antonio Conte.

Wenham insists Alli needs to leave Tottenham but claims the club can’t demand a significant fee.

“He’s had loads of chances, he needs to move away,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“What could we get for him? A couple of years ago it would be over £100m.

“Now, what? £15million at a push. I do think there is still potential there.

“People keep saying this but he’s had so many years of being questioned and not performing.

“The only thing we can do now is loan him out now and hope he performs so we can demand a higher fee.

“Even if it’s as low to a team in the bottom half of the table. I think he needs a team where he can be the centre of attention.

“He’s not going to get that at Tottenham. He can’t go much lower so anything he does shouldn’t impact that fee too much.”

Alli has made 14 appearances for Spurs this season.

He has scored two goals.
