Spurs consider swoop for Premier League star midfielder as parent club is “forced” to sell players

According to Paul O’Keefe, Spurs want to sign the English international James Maddison from Leicester City club.

The correspondent says that the interest in the playmaker has always been serious, and given the player’s contract situation the club from North London wants him this transfer window.

The Englishman’s contract with Leicester City will be up for two more year. The latest transfer rumors claim that the attacking midfielder is also being linked with Arsenal. Other reports suggest that the Gunners seem to be more interested in his teammate Youri Tielemans, and the English playmaker is now more on Spurs’ radar.

The versatility of the 25-year-old midfielder meets the demands of Antonio Conte’s system. Transfermarkt reports that Maddison is currently priced at £50 million. Tottenham will have to allocate a considerable amount for the signing of the player. The deal will become even more difficult if his partner, Youri Tielemans, leaves the team first.
