Tottenham beat Fulham 2-1 in yesterday’s match. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane secured important three points for the North London team, though Aleksandar Mitrovic late goal has made the late minutes of the game tough for Conte.
Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg scored a delightful goal and was praised by BBC Sport expert Glen Murray. Tottenham dominated the first half strongly, and took the lead in the 40th minute thanks to an impressive shot from the Danish midfielder. The 27-year-old elegantly dealt with a tricky situation and finished off the attack with a goal.
The Dane got on the ball with Richarlison and sent the ball into the bottom corner of the goal with a single touch. The opposing goalkeeper was powerless against the 27-year-old’s shot.
Speaking on Final Score, Glen Murray praised the Dane’s final touch that ended in a goal.
“Spurs can smell blood. And the way Hojbjerg finished it I thought he was Kane, it was a striker-esque goal.“
The second half was considerably tougher for Tottenham, but all questions seemed to be closed by Kane, who scored in the 75th minute. Young Englishman Ryan Sessegnon’s shot was blocked by the opponents, but the England captain’s attempt was out of reach and Kane curled the ball into an empty net.
Fulham was able to respond with one goal from Mitrovic seven minutes after Kane scored. After running past Cristian Romero, Mitrovic guided the ball past the French goalkeeper into the top corner. It was almost impossible for Hugo Lloris to save his team.
The end of the match was also very tense, as Richarlison scored the third goal and closed all questions, but then VAR intervened and confirmed the offside.
The North London team’s unbeaten run continues, and under Antonio Conte, Spurs are facing their best start in many years.
