Spurs are reportedly still in pursuit of Takehiro Tomiyasu.
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has given Fabio Paratici the green light to make a move.
Spurs have been linked with Tomiyasu for a number of weeks now.
Previous reports suggested the Bologna defender had a £17million price tag.
Now, Calciomercato claims the Serie A outfit wants €25million (around £21.5million) for Tomiyasu.
Despite the reported increase in price, Nuno still seems keen on the 22-year-old.
Spurs are apparently eager to pair Tomiyasu with Cristian Romero, who joined earlier this summer from Atalanta.
And Calciomercato claims the links between Tottenham and the Japan international should be followed with “great attention”.
Tomiyasu has plied his trade for Bologna since 2019, when he joined from Belgium’s Sint-Truiden for a reported £6.3million.
He has made 63 appearances in red-and-blue, registering three goals and three assists.
In addition, Tomiyasu has won 23 caps for Japan and competed at the Tokyo Olympics this summer.
Prior to joining Sint-Truiden, he came through the ranks at hometown club Avispa Fukuoka.
Tomiyasu is a right-footed central defender who can also play at right-back.
With Toby Alderweireld no longer at Spurs, the Italy-based ace could well be his intended replacement.
