Tottenham are set to sack manager Nuno Espirito Santo today, Football Insider can reveal.
It comes just four months after he was appointed after leaving Wolves at the end of last season.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider Daniel Levy held talks with Nuno today and he is set to be relieved of his duties.
It is understood Ryan Mason, 30, will be once again be placed in interim charge and could remain in the position until Christmas.
Nuno enjoyed Tottenham’s best-ever start to a Premier League season with three successive 1-0 wins but there has been a downturn in results in recent weeks.
That includes 3-0 losses to Crystal Palace and Chelsea as well as a 3-1 defeat to bitter local rivals at Arsenal.
Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Man United has proven to be the final straw for Levy.
Spurs fans booed and sang “you don’t know what you’re doing” at their manager during the loss.
He was not initially a candidate for the job after ending his four-year spell with Wolves.
But after Spurs held talks with a variety of candidates including Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso and former manager Mauricio Pochettino, they finally appointed Nuno.
The Portuguese will end his short spell in charge of the north London club with a win rate of 52.9 per cent.
Mason spent seven games in caretaker charge at the end of last season after Jose Mourinho was sacked just before the Carabao Cup final in April.
