Sky Sports pundit drops West Ham dressing room view after Kurt Zouma saga

Troy Deeney believes the West Ham dressing room will be split over the current uproar surrounding defender Kurt Zouma and if he should play or not.

The French defender has been blasted from all corners after footage emerged of him kicking and slapping his pet cat last weekend.

The club have so far backed him to continue playing on the pitch but fined him £250,000 and condemned his actions. He also lost sponsorship deals and had his cats taken away from him.

Troy Deeney wrote in a column for The Sun that he feels the team will be split on his actions.

“West Ham’s dressing room will be split by Kurt Zouma,” the Sky Sports pundit wrote.

“A dressing room is the same as society. Everyone will disagree with the action, but you will get some people who will disagree with you as a person full-stop.”

This West Ham team is built on the spirit and togetherness of the squad that David Moyes has built in recent years.

Zouma only arrived in the summer from Chelsea but immediately cemented himself as a key player and the club’s best defender.

But his actions were vile and it’s only natural that some players will feel differently about him after seeing them.

It’s now the job of Moyes to ensure the togetherness of the squad isn’t disrupted as they look to continue their push towards a potential Champions League finish for next season.

Realistically they need Zouma to be available to them to reach that, simply because of their lack of options never mind his quality, but Moyes must make the call on the best way to get him in and please everyone.
