Sergio Reguilon has heaped praise on new Tottenham Hotspur signing Bryan Gil during an interview with the club’s official website.
Spurs landed the young Spaniard in the summer. He checked in at the Tottenham Hotspur in a deal that saw the club pay cash and Erik Lamela to Sevilla.
Gil has yet to start a Premier League game for Spurs just yet. The youngster had made a full debut in the Carabao Cup and has looked good in four cameo appearances in the league.
At 20 Gil has bags of time to realise his potential. He spent the summer playing for Spain at the Olympics and that meant a shorter pre-season for the starlet.
Reguilon played with Gil at Sevilla. The defender spent a season on loan with the La Liga outfit; featuring 38 times for the club.
He has heaped praise on his new teammate during an interview with the club’s official website, believing the player will ultimately become a top player.
Reguilon said: “I played with him at Sevilla and he’s a fantastic guy, although he’s very young. He will need time to settle and get used to his new surroundings.
“But he is a fantastic professional. He has so much energy about him as well, and you can see that in the way he performs on the pitch.”
Although the young Spaniard has lots of time to continue developing, he perhaps has the attributes that Tottenham are crying out for right now.
Gil is creative, tricky and loves setting up chances for the forwards to score goals.
As a result, the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min would likely relish seeing him in the starting line-up soon.
Gil has been signed as one for the future but it surely won’t be long before his boss is calling on him from the off in the Premier League.
