Rival PL clubs reportedly shocked of unexpectedly low transfer price of Spurs deal

According to The Daily Mail, several Premier League clubs were greatly surprised by the price Spurs paid for Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The price paid for the midfielder is only £25 million, reports Alasdair Gold of Football.London. But at the same time the amount of the full transfer could increase by 5 million pounds given the bonuses fulfilled.

Tottenham’s rivals in the fight for the Malian were representatives of Aston Villa and Newcastle United. The 25-year-old footballer made his choice in favor of Spurs.

Qualification of Tottenham to the Champions League was an important factor, which gave additional opportunity to attract the player.

The fact that the fee for the player was only £25 million was very surprising. At the time, Aston Villa and Newcastle expected Brighton to ask for more than 35 million.

The Tottenham’s excellent summer transfer campaign will provide an opportunity to strengthen the existing squad and to prove themselves worthy in the next season.
