Tottenham have had a two-year contract offer accepted by Fraser Forster and he will sign from Southampton on a free transfer, Football Insider understands.
The goalkeeper, 34, will be one of two free agents heading to Spurs imminently with Ivan Perisic close to signing from Inter Milan on a free.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Spurs have wrapped up a deal for Forster and he has already completed a medical.
The deal will be announced soon after Forster agreed terms running until 2024.
Football Insider revealed earlier this week (24 May) that the goalkeeper has agreed to take a pay cut to join Spurs.
His Southampton deal, signed in July 2017, was worth £5million, just shy of £100,000-a-week.
Tottenham are bringing in a new goalkeeper after deciding not to convert Pierluigi Gollini’s season-long loan into a permanent deal.
The Londoners have instead decided to sign an experienced English keeper with extensive Premier League experience, in a deal that has echoes of their 2020 capture of Joe Hart.
Intriguingly, Forster had headed back to Southampton that summer following the end of a hugely successful loan return to Celtic, the club where Hart has reignited his own career this term.
Forster was the first choice keeper at the Saints for half of 2021-22, taking over from Alex McCarthy in December and starting 19 Premier League matches among 24 appearances in all competitions.
The giant former England international missed the last two matches of the campaign after deciding not to extend his contract.
At Spurs, he is set to provide cover and competition for Hugo Lloris, who started every Premier League match as his team finished fourth in the table.
