Tottenham Hotspur may look at completing a deal for another Metz player before too long, with The Sun reporting that they want Boubacar Traore.
Spurs are set to welcome Pape Matar Sarr into the fold next summer. Fabio Paratici signed the Senegal international during the previous window before loaning him back for a year.
And it seems that one of his teammates has come onto their radar as they keep an eye on Sarr’s progress.
According to The Sun, Tottenham are now interested in Traore. The 20-year-old has made eight appearances in Ligue 1 this term.
The report notes that he could be eligible for a UK visa should he receive a call-up to the Mali squad for the winter’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Traore is a central midfielder. He scored his only top flight goal in his second senior appearance for Metz, a 2-1 defeat to Lorient.
Tottenham wasted little time getting a deal done for Sarr. The 19-year-old had only made 22 league appearances for Metz before Spurs came calling.
So perhaps they may be open to getting in there early for Traore also.
If nothing else, signing the pair could help them both settle in North London.
Of course, Spurs may take a similar approach should they complete a deal for Traore and loan him back for the following year.
But it is smart to keep an eye out for the best players coming through elsewhere. France has been producing some amazing talent for some time now.
Spurs hope that they have signed one. Perhaps they may land another before too long.
