Spurs are one of the sides set to meet with the agent of Dusan Vlahovic today as Tottenham battle Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid for the forward, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.
Vlahovic remains on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
He scored 21 goals in Serie A last season. And La Viola value the Serbian at around £60 million.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Atletico Madrid have now confirmed their interest with a bid. They are apparently leading the race. And they have got closest to his asking price so far.
Interestingly however, Spurs may be about to take an important step themselves.
Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Tottenham were in contact with his representatives.
And Tuttomercatoweb is now claiming that Spurs will meet his agent in Milan today. Inter also plan to take the opportunity to discuss a potential deal.
Signing Vlahovic amid agent reports would be ideal way for Spurs to bounce back from Lautaro Martinez blow
There a moment over the weekend when Tottenham looked to be closing in on a deal for one of the most exciting attacking players plying their trade in Europe.
The Times claimed on Sunday that a fee for Lautaro Martinez had been agreed. However, that optimism has largely evaporated.
Football London noted that Tottenham were no longer hopeful of a transfer. Inter will be under less pressure to sell with the funds from Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea.
With that, Fabio Paratici is perhaps under a little pressure. Spurs were seemingly close to an amazing coup. And fans will be hoping that they take little time to focus their efforts elsewhere.
Signing Vlahovic would excite the fans. The youngster looks to have an amazing career ahead.
And it seems a decision may not be that far away.
