Spurs have joined the race to sign Basel striker Arthur Cabral, according to TEAMtalk.
Tottenham did well to retain Harry Kane over the summer, but they’ve still not got another senior centre-forward in their ranks.
With the January transfer window coming up, there’s certainly potential for Nuno Espirito Santo to bring in a new No. 9.
And Cabral is very much Europe’s most in-form striker right now, with a staggering 20 goals from 17 appearances this term.
Basel have had a very busy 2021-22 so far, having played nine Super League games and eight Europa Conference League matches.
But Cabral has absolutely excelled, and now boasts 58 goals and 15 assists from 91 appearances for the Swiss giants since moving from Palmeiras in 2019.
In addition, the 23-year-old made the Brazil squad for their latest World Cup qualifiers, though he’s yet to make his debut.
According to TEAMtalk, Cabral’s call-up means he will now almost certainly land a work permit, should he move in the near future.
Spurs are reportedly vying with Arsenal, Everton, West Ham, Brighton and Southampton, as well as Leeds, who were linked with him last year.
