Spurs have seen a bid for Domingos Duarte rejected by Granada, but AS reports that the La Liga side expect Tottenham to return with an improved offer.
Fabio Paratici continues to be incredibly busy in the final stages of the window.
A loan bid for Adama Traore has reportedly been rejected. Meanwhile, reports from Italy claimed that Franck Kessie has received a contract offer worth £132,000-a-week.
And it seems that Duarte is also on their radar. According to AS, Spurs made a bid of £6.9 million for the Portuguese.
However, Granada have rejected the offer. His contract – which expires in 2023 – includes a £25.9 million release clause.
Interestingly, AS adds that Granada believe that Tottenham will return with an improved bid for the 26-year-old.
It remains to be seen if Spurs can agree a deal for Duarte. The report hints that Granada could want around £15.4 million for the centre-back.
That is not a huge outlay. But having said that, Tottenham do not need another contender for that area of the pitch.
Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have impressed in the early stages of this campaign. Cristian Romero is a marquee addition. And players such as Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga are also available to Nuno Espirito Santo.
Unless they bring another marquee signing in, it surely makes more sense to prioritise other areas of the squad.
