Report: Spurs could make second attempt to sign player who ‘Mourinho loves’ as Paratici gets to work

Tottenham Hotspur could make a ‘new assault’ to try and land Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan, but the player does not want to move, CalcioMercatoWeb say.

Second time lucky
Tottenham are said to be chasing Skriniar again, after missing out on him last year, when Jose Mourinho was in charge.

It was claimed at the time that Mourinho loved Skriniar by Fabrizio Romano on Give Me Sport.

This news follows on from Jules Kounde rejecting them this morning, after Spurs had a bid accepted (Marca).

Tottenham are determined to land a central defender and Skriniar is an appealing target to new sporting director Fabio Paratici.

Rejected again
However, the wording in the latest report from Italy must cause some concern for Spurs.

The update claims that Skriniar only wants Inter Milan, which could mean that Tottenham face being rejected again.

Spurs’ failure to qualify for any major European competition now looks as if it is becoming a real issue, with Paratici making transfer plans.

The encouraging fact is that in Kounde and Skriniar Tottenham do appear to be targeting elite level defenders.

However, the move to Spurs does not appear as appealing as it once was, and it may be that Paratici has to look further down his last of targets to find a potential addition.
