Report: Paul Brown says Spurs are preparing a surprise signing at the end of the transfer window

According to journalist Paul Brown, in an interview with GiveMeSport, Tottenham may be adding a new forward to their team, whose name is still unknown.

This summer, the team from North London acquired former Everton star Riсharlison to the attacking line, spending £52.5 million for him.

Spurs’ attacking line is impressive, with Antonio Conte’s team scoring nine goals in their first four games. Only four teams were able to surpass the club from London in this indicator – Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Nevertheless, in the transfer window, players were not only bought, there were many sales, including the strikers. Dutch player Steven Bergwijn moved to Ajax for £28 million. For his part, Bryan Gil, who has been linked with a loan move all summer window, could move to Valencia.

Correspondent states that Spurs have created buying opportunities by selling players. And, he says, Conte is open to new players to strengthen his attacking line, but who it will be is still unknown.

“Getting rid of all of the players they have done will add room in the squad and take some salaries off the wage bill, but bear in mind at all of his clubs, Conte would always say, even if they weren’t in his plans, we need to replace him,” .

“Conte always demands signings and while Spurs have made several, he’s never going to say no to getting another one in, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Spurs sign another forward.”

According to Fabrizio Roman, the Spurs are only willing to let Bryan Gil go to Valencia if they can find a decent replacement for him. And it’s likely that Fabio Paratici will make that decision in the near future.

There are many contenders: Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid, who could be a versatile player for Conte, both as a winger and as a competitor for the role of wing-back. Dan James of Leeds, for whom Spurs have already sent an inquiry to the club about the terms of the transfer.

Thus, Tottenham intends to sign a potential ninth player, which indicates not only the strengthening of the current squad, but also the ambitions of the club to stand at the top in the coming years.
