Report: Newcastle close to signing Spurs outcast for £42 million

According to various media reports, Newcastle is interested in Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and is one of the leaders to sign him.

The French midfielder never managed to prove himself at Spurs after leaving Lyon in 2019. There have been many rumors about his move this summer. Roma and Galatasaray also wanted the midfielder.

The Frenchman himself is still high on his chances under Antonio Conte:

“Yes, I think it’s possible to be happy at Tottenham. Regardless of where you can go, you can be happy or unhappy. We’ll see how things go during preseason. I’m not putting any more pressure on myself than that.”

Tottenham, for their part, do not want to hold back the Frenchman and want to get rid of him. The current front-runners for the player’s services are Newcastle, but at the moment they have not sent an official bid.

Ndombele’s price is the only factor that could deter the club. Tottenham is demanding £42 million for the midfielder.
