Manchester City are one of the clubs rivalling Tottenham for the signature of Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to a report from Calciomercato.
Rudiger’s future is set to be a talking point over the next few months. As noted by Transfermarkt, the Germany international is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
He has been a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans this term. Rudiger has started eight of their nine Premier League games. Meanwhile, he has also been an ever-present for the Blues in the Champions League.
But it would appear that the European champions face a battle to keep the 28-year-old.
Calciomercato lists Spurs and City are admirers. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus also want the defender.
It is a stunning group of sides wanting to sign Rudiger. And it will surely open the door for the former Roma man to demand some eye-watering terms at his next club.
He currently earns £100,000-a-week, according to Spotrac. And given that he may not command a transfer fee, the door is open for Rudiger to demand an incredibly lucrative contract.
Certainly, the amount of interest does Chelsea few favours as they look to keep him.
