Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly on Barcelona’s radar, according to Sport.
The Spanish outlet claims the Tottenham ace is on Ronald Koeman’s wishlist as he looks to sign a new midfielder next year.
Spurs made Ndombele their record signing in July 2019, joining Tottenham for a reported £54million.
However, the £200,000-a-week man’s time at N17 hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing.
After a difficult first season at Tottenham, Ndombele emerged as a regular starter under Jose Mourinho last term.
However, the Frenchman dropped back to the bench under Ryan Mason and took a while to win Nuno Espirito Santo over.
Ndombele struggled to have much of an impact in Spurs’ win over Aston Villa last time out, coming off on 76 minutes.
Barcelona were linked with the 24-year-old last year, while this summer, the player reportedly wanted to leave Spurs.
Koeman is apparently also looking at Marcelo Brozovic, Franck Kessie and Donny van de Beek.
Barca have begun the season badly, sitting ninth in La Liga and bottom of Champions League Group E.
Ndombele’s time at Spurs has had its ups and downs – he’s a talented player, but he’s had spells out of the team amid the odd question over his fitness.
As Tottenham’s record signing, there’ll be pressure for him to succeed, both on the player himself and the club that spent a sizeable sum on him.
He seems to have won Nuno over and, after missing out on the first few games of the season, has started the last three in the league.
Things seem to be on the right track and chances are Spurs won’t want to move him on mid-season.
