Tottenham player Tanguy Ndombele has been sent on loan to Italian club Napoli. The Serie A team will be able to activate the option to buy the player’s permanent contract for 30 million euros at any time.
The expectation of Ndombele’s talent was not long in coming. The Frenchman has already made many headlines in Italy, and quite deservedly so. A brilliant game against Juve Stabia gave the 25-year-old the opportunity to prove himself.
Whether Napoli will activate the buyout option remains to be seen. But if we talk about the beginning of his journey in the Italian team, it really turns out to be successful.
Journalist Walter De Maggio, speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, openly excused himself to the Tottenham player for his comments about him. The French player scored a spectacular goal, and showed strong qualities in the central zone, which helped Napoli to finish the match successfully.
The correspondent said: “I have to say my mea culpa for what I said about the midfielder Ndombélé and I have no problem recognising my mistake in some of my evaluations. I said I’d never break up a midfield of Stanislav Lobotka, Frank Anguissa and Piotr Zielinski to bring in Ndombélé.
“After seeing what the former Tottenham man did against Juve Stabia, I changed my mind. How can you keep such a player out? The French footballer, for all the qualities he has, must absolutely also be a protagonist of the new Luciano Spalletti branded Napoli.”
The 25-year-old Frenchman, was never able to convince any of the Tottenham coaches who came after Mauricio Pochettino about his game. For Antonio Conte, the player was also not a revelation, and his departure from the team is evidence of that.
The French midfielder spent the second half of last season at his former club Lyon, where he once again failed to get back on the right track, and after the expiration of his loan, the player returned to the team from North London.
But, in the end, the player managed to find the strengths, and move from London. And now, it remains for him to prove to the coach of the Italian team about his professionalism, and that he can become a player of the starting lineup.
