Jermain Defoe repeatedly praised Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski after he played his first game of the season.
Kulusevski had a key role in the game and was an excellent substitute for Kane and Son, who are not yet at their best.
Defoe admitted that the Swede’s play was nothing but a delight to him:
“Really sharp today. Thought his overall performance was brilliant. Really direct, goal and assist on the opening day is the perfect start. He took his goal really well, you know, just used the defender and instead of just hitting it hard, just caressed it into the corner. His whole performance today was brilliant.”
The young Swede showed himself perfectly in the first match and the quality of his game shows that he deserves to play in the starting lineup of the London club.
