Real Madrid prepare talks over surprise Spurs transfer raid

Real Madrid could reportedly be set to approach Tottenham over a deal to re-sign Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon.

This is according to reports from Defensa Central, who suggest Los Blancos want Reguilon back as a long-term replacement for Marcelo.

Reguilon was at Real earlier in his career but never got many opportunities due to the strong competition for places at the Bernabeu.

He ended up impressing on loan at Sevilla, however, and Spurs snapped him up ahead of big names like Manchester United and Chelsea.

It seems Madrid are now hoping to bring Reguilon back for a second spell, though, and it will be interesting to see how this develops.

One imagines, however, that Spurs will do all they can to keep Reguilon, especially as Real are not said to be keen on paying his £34million buy-back clause in full.

The north Londoners surely won’t accept any less than that for the 24-year-old, who has settled in well in his time in the Premier League.
