‘Pushing like mad’: 51-year-old is now desperate to replace Conte as Tottenham manager – journalist

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly “pushing like mad” to return to Tottenham Hotspur as doubts grow over the future of current manager Antonio Conte. Journalist Shaun Custis revealed the news on talkSPORT, adding that the Argentine coach is very keen to make a comeback.

It’s believed that Conte may have already managed his final game at the club after his press conference following the draw with Southampton.

If Tottenham does decide to part ways with Conte, then one of the factors Daniel Levy will have to consider is who can replace him. Fortunately, there are several options available, with Thomas Tuchel being suggested by Ben Foster. However, it appears that many fans would love to see Pochettino return.

During his previous tenure as Tottenham manager, Pochettino was a popular figure among the fan base and players alike. The club’s failure to take the final step and win a trophy during his time in charge still remains a concern, but there is no denying that he was one of the most beloved managers in recent decades.

Despite Pochettino’s desire to return, Levy is reportedly very reluctant to bring him back, as it could be seen as an admission that it was a mistake to let him go in the first place. Nonetheless, if Tottenham does decide to turn back to Pochettino, it could be a significant boost for the club, potentially galvanising them once again.

In conclusion, it remains to be seen who will take charge of Tottenham Hotspur in the future. But if the rumours are true, and Pochettino does indeed return to the club, it would undoubtedly be an exciting prospect for fans and players alike.
