‘Price rises’ – Spurs warned the European club about problems if they continue ‘dawdling’

Steven Bergwein – was linked to Ajax back from the January transfer window, but at the time the clubs were unable to reach an agreement for a number of different reasons.

The Dutch forward is expected to leave Tottenham this summer on a permanent basis, and there are many suitors for the player’s services.

Ajax’s interest has not subsided, and therefore Ajax has continued negotiations on the matter. Reports in the Netherlands confirm their interest in a permanent deal as early as the summer transfer window.

According to journalist Valentijn Driessen, Ajax soccer club can withdraw from any negotiations.

«They are now saying €25m. But that’s not coming from Spurs, that amount. Why would Spurs sell him when they know they have a gold mine in their hands? He will probably also go to the World Cup, he will play at the World Cup, he is developing very well with the Dutch team» – he told the Kick-Off Voetbalpodcast, as relayed by Voetbal Primeur.

Consequently, negotiations are progressing quite difficult, each side is interested in the player’s decision, but Ajax’s wait does not allow the matter to move forward. Hopefully, the story will end positively for both sides.
