Pep Guardiola delivers honest verdict as Tottenham appoint Antonio Conte

Pep Guardiola has given his verdict in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after Tottenham appointed Antonio Conte as manager.

Conte, 52, has penned an 18-month deal with the option of a further year at Tottenham. It is just over 24 hours after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked.

It sees Tottenham, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici correct the failed pursuit of Conte in the summer. Nuno was hired instead, arguably sixth choice.

Conte is now expected to take charge on Thursday in the Europa Conference League against Vitesse. He could take training on Tuesday.

Speaking in his latest City press conference ahead of a clash against Club Brugge, Guardiola gave his verdict on Tottenham appointing Conte.

“First of all to come back to England his career speaks for itself. He had success everywhere. An outstanding manager,” Guardiola told MEN.
