Spurs are now leading the race to sign Everton star Richarlison this summer, according to the Daily Mail on Monday morning, writes the GN.
The newspaper has reported that the Toffees want more than £50million for the Brazilian, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain set to rival any club interested.
Despite that, it is shared that the Premier League side are winning the race with Richarlison open to leaving Everton behind after helping them avoid relegation.
Written in the print edition [13 June, pg. 74], Simon Jones delivered the latest update on the South American with interested clubs now filtering down.
“Everton want more than £50million for Richarlison this summer, with Tottenham the club most interested in the 25-year-old Brazilian,” he wrote.
“The forward is open to leaving Goodison Park and Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen. However, sources have indicated that Tottenham are leading the chase.”
With Spurs now said to be officially leading the race, it looks as though this inevitable exit is moving closer.
It has progressed from clubs merely stating their interest, to being the frontrunners, with the next step a bid coming in from the Londoners and Antonio Conte.
Everton need to stand firm on their asking price though, and this could be used to bring in more than £60million and really start easing those financial fair play restrictions and even bringing in a couple of new faces.
Richarlison was the heart and soul of this side in the 2021-22 season, and it is only right that he is given his chance to play elsewhere if that is what he really wants.
What he needs to understand though, is that this is on our terms and not his.
If someone doesn’t cough up the big bucks that we no doubt deserve for any transfer, then he will be going nowhere, Farhad Moshiri must make that clear.
