Mauricio Pochettino Already Loves One of Antonio Conte’s Signings at Spurs

One player who may not be too disappointed to see the back of Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur is Richarlison. The Brazilian forward signed for Conte and was aware of what the manager had achieved with some of the forwards he had worked with during his career.

However, this season has not gone according to plan for Richarlison, and his fiery interview after Tottenham’s Champions League exit to AC Milan was a culmination of his struggles.

Following Conte’s explosive press conference at the weekend, The Times reported that the Italian is set to leave the club imminently. While some will be sad to see him go, some of the Tottenham players will view his departure as an opportunity, and Richarlison will surely be one of them.

Interestingly, one of the names being linked to the Tottenham managerial position is Mauricio Pochettino, who tried to sign Richarlison back in 2017. At the time, Richarlison had made a brilliant start to his career at Watford, and Pochettino was quick to see something special in the forward.

However, regardless of who comes in next, there is a big problem for Richarlison. Many Tottenham fans would name a front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kulusevski as their best. Pochettino has experience working with Kane and Son, and Kulusevski is an outstanding talent, so it may not be an easy task for Richarlison.

Nevertheless, it will be encouraging for Richarlison if Pochettino does return to Tottenham, as he has previously expressed interest in signing the Brazilian. Only time will tell whether Richarlison will get his chance to shine in North London, but with a new manager potentially on the horizon, the future looks bright for the young forward.
