Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold was unhappy with defender Eric Dier after the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
The game was exemplary for Premier League. Lots of tackles, four goals, the removal of both managers – all these are mandatory attributes for the London derby.
In ranking the players, Gold’s correspondent gave Tottenham defender Dier a 6/10 for his efforts. The reporter did not like the game without the ball, because it did not match the level of this caliber of player.
“Some shaky moments out of possession with his decision-making but also a couple of big tackles and he was a major presence in the Chelsea box late on.”
The Tottenham man didn’t fare too well in SofaScore’s statistics, either. He lost possession 17 times, won only 1/4 ground duels and was also dribbled past on one occasion.
