‘Logical’ – Agent responds to Tottenham’s interest in signing ex-star

Earlier this week, reports from England stated Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in bringing Christian Eriksen back to the club in the summer, writes the SW.

The attacking midfielder’s contract at Inter Milan was terminated last December since he was not permitted to play in Serie A due to his medical situation.

A month later, the Denmark international joined Brentford on a short-term deal until the end of this season. He has impressed for the Bees and also returned to the national team squad for March’s international break.

The former Spurs star has managed three goals and an assist in his last four matches for club and country. The 30-year-old’s recent form has seen him linked to Tottenham.

Eriksen’s contract at Brentford expires in June and Thomas Frank has said he would like to retain his compatriot at the club beyond this season.

With the likes of Antonio Conte’s side and Manchester United reportedly showing interest in Eriksen, BT in Denmark decided to get in touch with his agent, Martin Schoots for an update.

“It is clear that Christian is making a big impression at the moment, both with the national team and Brentford. The speculation about his future is a logical consequence of this,” the agent said.

“Although Christian is widely recognised for his positive influence at Brentford’s level and the team’s achievements, he would prefer to concentrate on the club’s collective goal, which is to avoid relegation.”
